Atlas Copco to acquire Wangen Pumpen

Atlas Copco has agreed to acquire the German industrial pump manufacturer Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH from personal fairness firm Silverfleet Capital.

Headquartered in Wangen within the Allgäu area of Germany, Pumpenfabrik Wangen specialises in progressive cavity pumps used mainly in the biogas and wastewater sectors, and twin-screw pumps for food and beverage and cosmetics applications.
Pumpenfabrik Wangen has manufacturing facilities in Germany, a US subsidiary and a world sales and repair footprint. The company employs 265 folks and had 2020 revenues of roughly €46.4 million.
“Industrial pumps is a section that we’ve identified as a strategic fit for Atlas Copco and Wangen Pumpen has leading differentiated technology with a robust aftermarket enterprise,” mentioned Andrew Walker, president of Atlas Copco’s Power Technique business area. “Wangen Pumpen is a robust model and is thought for quality in demanding industrial applications. This acquisition will create a solid basis for additional progress in new industrial pump segments.”
The acquired enterprise will turn into part of the Power and Flow division within Atlas Copco’s Power Technique Business Area.
Rich is expected to be completed during the second quarter of 2022 and is topic to regulatory approvals.
