Thai college students at Chaturaphak Phiman School in the Isaan province of Roi Et have taken a stand in opposition to stereotypes, showing the world that not all Thai college students are racist. The student shared a video of them creating a birthday surprise for their black teacher.
Three days ago, a video of a Thai student raising her center fingers at a black teacher in class at a college in Bangkok went viral on Thai social media. The scholar and her classmates confronted fierce criticism on social media for disrespecting the trainer.
The students within the class later promised netizens they would formally apologise to the trainer. A video of the apology then followed. It featured college students holding a flower chalice and kneeling to apologise to the instructor. According to a report in Thai media, the teacher forgave her college students.
Unfortunately, the video of the Thai girl flipping her middle fingers to the trainer went viral in in other international locations, tarnishing the picture of Thai folks.
To restore the popularity of Thai pupils, a scholar from another college shared a video of a birthday surprise on her TikTok account, how_to_yada, yesterday, July 19. The video confirmed college students singing Happy Birthday to their overseas trainer and offering three small desserts with flickering candles.
The teacher was visibly moved, overlaying her face and shedding tears of pleasure. In an emotional moment, she said…
“I made a wish. I wish all of you to be my associates and to get a grade four rating (the highest rating in Thai excessive school). Everyone goes to attain in grade 4. Thank you a lot.”

“From the drama of one Thai scholar behaving badly in course of a international instructor, some people might imagine that Thai people or Thai youngsters are racist and have dangerous habits. We need to tell everyone that everyone has different habits. Not all Thai college students have that behaviour. My associates and I all like foreign lecturers, regardless of their nationalities.
“It is nice and fun to study with foreign lecturers even though virtually 90% of classmates can’t talk in English very properly, but teachers try to use body language or signal language to make us perceive what the teacher is saying.”
