Atlas Copco to accumulate Wangen Pumpen

Atlas Copco has agreed to amass the German industrial pump manufacturer Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH from personal equity firm Silverfleet Capital.

Outlawed in Wangen in the Allgäu area of Germany, Pumpenfabrik Wangen specialises in progressive cavity pumps used mainly in the biogas and wastewater sectors, and twin-screw pumps for food and beverage and cosmetics applications.
Pumpenfabrik Wangen has manufacturing facilities in Germany, a US subsidiary and a world gross sales and service footprint. The firm employs 265 folks and had 2020 revenues of approximately €46.four million.
“Industrial pumps is a section that we’ve recognized as a strategic match for Atlas Copco and Wangen Pumpen has leading differentiated expertise with a robust aftermarket business,” said Andrew Walker, president of Atlas Copco’s Power Technique enterprise space. “Wangen Pumpen is a robust brand and is thought for high quality in demanding industrial applications. This acquisition will create a strong foundation for further progress in new industrial pump segments.”
The acquired business will turn out to be part of the Power and Flow division inside Atlas Copco’s Power Technique Business Area.
The deal is expected to be completed during the second quarter of 2022 and is topic to regulatory approvals.
